DUBBINGS
AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATION
Audiovisual translation is one of the main means to turn a local audiovisual into a global audiovisual. This is a very specific craft, requiring skills both from translation's world and audiovisual's world. In this section you will find most of my work as a writer of adapted dialogues for foreign audiovisual dubbings in Italy.
To have a full overview and sample-links of all the audiovisuals I adapted into italian since early nineties, please see:
Serafino Murri's Dubbing Index.

A film by Ken Loack
To give an idea of the work on film dialogues-adaptation of an original feature to a dubbed version, here is a scene taken from the dialogues of a movie I adapted from English into Italian long ago in 2002: the masterpiece "Sweet Sixteen" by the great English film director Ken Loach.
In the page you will find a sample with the video and the script of the original scene, and the video and the script of the dubbed version, where you can notice linguistic choices, phono-labial synchronism, and all the other step to turn an audiovisual from one language into another.
